Before joining the firm, she practiced with the firm Vinson & Elkins, LLP, for 17 years, first as an associate and then as a partner. She later formed Fossi & Jewell LLP with Lawrence Fossi, where she practiced law for the next seven years.
Throughout her career, Karen has focused her practice on litigating commercial cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts. She also regularly represents clients in arbitration proceedings conducted by the American Arbitration Association, the NASD and FINRA, as well as under private arrangements between the parties. Dividing her time about evenly between representing plaintiffs and defendants, Karen has successfully tried cases involving a wide range of contract disputes and business torts.
In addition to being an active member of the state and city bar associations, Karen has served on the boards of several charitable and community organizations.
